So I put down money for some loot: WFB LE Nagash books basically. Figured Nagash was so central to the WFB world that it’ll be worth it.
So what’s in it?
The package came with a nice flyer for the Nagash event, where they try to get you to sign up for one side or the other. Also, a small notebook in the style of one of Nagash’s books. Not sure what that is for…
A nice slip cover box in the style of the 40K box with a magnetic clasp: it’s nice but I’d honestly would have preferred it to have a inner flap so that it’s easier to take the books out.
One of the inner items is the art folio, which came with 5 pieces of art and a map. Not very impressed with the art but I’m a sucker for maps…
And two books, one fluff one rules. The rules also contain some background on Nagash and the various Mortarches of Nagash; Arkhan the Black, Mannfred, Neferata, Krell, Vlad. I happen to like the Arkhan and Neferata of the novels; both strong characters that made choices that led them down an evil path, and both know regret isn’t an option and plow on ahead. It’s nice to read about them again.
The fluff is as expected quite thick and I’d need a few days to plow through them. As expected though, gorgeous in terms of layout and pictures. GW was smart enough this time to separate the rules from the fluff, which given how much was written.. would have been a bad idea to keep the two together. And this is Book 1!
The rules? These jokers would be overpowered anyway, no need to think too hard. 🙂 Don’t quite like how the Dread Abyssals look though. Feels too fat, and don’t feel secure with that tail propping up the whole thing. I’ll get at least one to do up Neferata, maybe a second for Arkhan (more likely to find something else to put Arkhan on though.. hmm.. he does look like a Tzenntch CSM Daemon Prince… heh.). Definitely’s going to mod Neferata’s ride though.
