15 CWT Truck

Manufacturer: Battlefront Miniatures

Product Code: BR????

Date of Article: 05 Nov 2008

Description

CWT stands for Centiweight Ton, which is an older measurement… the Brits had weird ways to measure things.

There are multiple different BF versions of CWT trucks; this particular one refers to a multipart resin and metal version which I prefer over the whole-resin cast types. You have an option in this case to leave the top of the truck off, which increases modelling possibilities.

Nothing too complicated about this miniature. Remember that the 15 CWT truck is a British vehicle. Actually, this particular version is Canadian Military Pattern (CMP), but that’s based off British anyway. The drivers would be on the right. The nice thing about this model is that it’s very obvious, due to a difference in the seat.

Jeep

Manufacturer: Battlefront Miniatures

Product Code: BR????

Date of Article: 05 Nov 2008

Description

The humble Jeep is really common, and there’s at least two basic version of the Jeep for British service; One’s a fully resin Jeep that’s cast with the base on, the other is this, which has no base, and is a mix of metal wheels and resin body. I prefer the multi-media kit.

Nothing too complicated about this, but it is important to remember that the Jeep is an American vehicle. Thus, while British vehicles would have their drivers to the right, Jeeps in British service would have drivers to their left.

<h1″>Universal Carrier

Manufacturer: Battlefront Miniatures

Product Code: BR????

Date of Article: 05 Nov 2008

Description

The UC’s really a workhorse for the British. Nothing overly complicated about this miniature, as it is a single piece cast with separate crew and weapon (Bren gun on AA mount). If you want to mount extra MGs/ 0.5 Cals or PIATs, do note that historical photos show 0.5 Cals/ MGs mounted above the “pulpit”, with the gunner standing up to fire the weapon.

Remember that as a British vehicle, the driver is on the right of the vehicle, not the left.
